Description
This course will build on the previous knowledge gained in MCC101 and MCC102 and will address more complex issues related to ICD9-CM and CPT-4. Case studies and class exercises will be provided to assist in strengthening coding skills. This course will further build on ethical coding and reporting in determining reimbursement in a variety of healthcare settings. Students will be taught how to use American Hospital Associations Coding Clinics (the official source for ICD9) and American Medical Association CPT Assistant (the official source for CPT Coding). The student must achieve a minimum of a ā€œCā€ grade or repeat the course.
