One Big Beautiful Bill Act Updates

On July 4, 2025, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) was signed into law, resulting in changes to federal student aid programs. Some of these changes went into effect immediately, while others will go into effect in 2026 and beyond.

Additionally, the Wall Street Journal published an article on May 27, 2026, titled "How to Choose Between Student Loan Repayment Options.”  This article provides a good summary of how the One Big Beautiful Bill Act changed student loan repayment plans and gives information about each of the new available plans.
